Alexis Bowsher
July 14, 1990 – November 13, 2009

Alexis BowsherMOHALL - Alexis "Lexi" Bowsher, 19, Mohall; died Friday, November 13, 2009 in an automobile accident near Presho, SD.

Lexi was born July 14, 1990 in Minot to Thom and Deb (Lower) Bowsher.  She was primarily raised in Minot.  The family moved to Lake Poinsett, SD where Thom was a camp director.  They moved to Mohall in 2004 where her father was the pastor of the Souris Valley Parish United Methodist Churches.  In June, her father was moved to serve the Lyman County Parish United Methodist Churches in Presho, SD.  It was not long after that Alexis decided she did not want her D-dad, as she lovingly called him, to be in Presho alone, so she moved to join him.  She was currently studying Athletic Training at Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, SD, and working at Hutch’s restaurant, the local café in Presho.

Alexis always had a love for dancing, and while she was in elementary school, took dance lessons at Janet’s Dance Factory in Minot.  In high school, she participated in volleyball, cheerleading, drama and speech.  She had a heart for God from a young age and went to camp at all three of the United Methodist camps in the Dakotas.  Anyone who knew Lexi could feel her zest for life, hear her raspy voice and see her adventurous spirit.  Whether she was helping someone or being a little mischievous, she was going to experience all life had to offer.  She also had a smile that would light up a room and she talked in silly voices that could always cheer you up if you were down.  She was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and was especially fond of Brett Favre.  Her son, Braylen, whom she loved so much, was born in March of 2008.  He is such a blessing and we feel very fortunate to have a little bit of her still with us through him.

No matter how much time God allows us to have with our loved ones, it does not feel as if it is enough.  We do feel very fortunate, however, that God gave us Lexi for 19 years.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
