Janet Tennyson
July 1, 1946 – June 12, 2009

Janet TennysonANTLER – Janet Elayne Tennyson, 62, Antler; died Friday, June 12, 2009, at a Minot nursing home after a brave fight with cancer.

Janet was born July 1, 1946 in Bottineau to William and Margaret (Waters) Pautzke.  She was raised on a farm near Souris and attended school in Roth and later in Souris.  She graduated from Souris High School in 1964 as the class Salutatorian.  She graduated from Minot State Teachers College with a Bachelor of Science in Music Education.  After graduation she taught music in Plaza, and later, in Sherwood.

Janet married Glenn Tennyson September 7, 1973, in Souris.  In addition to raising her two sons, Janet taught many children to play the piano as part of her Keyplayers Piano Club.  She played the church organ and piano at the Antler Community Church since 1974.  She only missed two Sundays in all those years.  Janet was the former Antler City Auditor and Assessor, served on the Bottineau County Library Board, was a Cub Scout Leader, a member of the Happy Hour Homemakers Club, was a bookkeeper for Donny Meyers, and helped operate Tennyson’s Garage in Antler with her husband, Glenn.  Janet loved to play the piano and gardening.  She was also a member of the Sherwood Garden Club.

Family:  husband, Glenn, Antler; sons, Leonard (Deborah) Tennyson, and Derek Tennyson, all of Minot; grandsons, Jack, William, Sterling, Kasey and Jesse, all of Minot; mother, Margaret Pautzke, Minot; sister, Deborah (Eric) Fiala, Saint Francis, KS; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Janet was preceded in death by her father, William Pautzke.

Funeral:  Wednesday, June 17, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. at the Antler Community Church

Burial:  Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot

Family Service:  Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home

Visitation:  Tuesday, June 16, 2009 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Brose Funeral Home, Mohall.
