Jessie Ferguson
He was born October 23, 1936 in Waurika, OK, to James Edward and Hattie Ferguson. He was raised in Waurika and attended school there. He entered the U.S. Marine Corps in January of 1954 toward the end of the Korean War. He served three tours of duty in Viet Nam from 1962 to 1970. His last duty station was in 1981 on the U.S.S. Coral Sea. He retired as a First Sergeant in 1982. Jessie married Susan Madsen April 15, 1967 in Novato, CA. Following his retirement, they moved to Texas, enjoying North Dakota each summer. They moved to Mohall in 2000 and enjoyed the last six winters in Yuma, AZ. Jessie was a member of the George T. Taylor American Legion Post #52, Mohall; the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a life member of the Disabled American Veterans. Family: wife, Susan, Mohall; children, Rodney Ferguson, Mexico; Carey (friend, Kathy Labs) Ferguson, Omaha, NE; DeAuna (Richard) Frey, Van, TX; David (Lynnette) Ferguson, Walnut Grove, CA; nine grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Morgan, Edna McCall and Dolly Shahan, all of Wichita Falls, TX; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Jessie was preceded in death by his parents, brother, James Earl Ferguson; and sister, Sue Butler.
