Marlene Craig
She was born May 14, 1940 in Kenmare to Carmie and Gertie (Forness) Nelson. She was raised in the Tolley area and graduated from Tolley High School in 1958. She worked at Woolworth’s in Minot and later at Citizens State Bank in Mohall. Marlene and Leon Craig were united in marriage on August 26, 1962 in Tolley. They lived in Mohall until moving to Tolley in 1964. She continued working at the bank until becoming a stay-at-home Mom, raising their two daughters, Vanessa and Joy. After the girls graduated from high school, she returned to work at So-Fro Fabrics and later at Dakota Heritage in Minot, until it closed. She worked at City Drug in Mohall until it closed. Marlene was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church, Tolley, and the WELCA; a member of the Grover Homemakers Club, Tolley Senior Citizens and the Renville County Old Settlers Association and was a 4-H leader. Marlene enjoyed sewing, crafts, painting, collecting china and decorating her home. Marlene was a wonderful, devoted daughter, wife and mother and a loving grandmother. She took pride and joy in spending time with her grandchildren. Marlene enjoyed her pets over the years, her cats and her dachshunds. Family: loving husband of 47 years, Leon, Tolley; daughters, Vanessa (Robert) Iverson, Tolley; and Joy (Don) Snyder, Fargo; grandchildren, Kevin, Kolby and Blake Iverson; and Katelyn and Gavin Snyder; and numerous nieces and nephews on the Craig side of the family. Marlene was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral: Saturday, February 13, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at Evangelical Lutheran Church, Tolley Burial: McKinney Cemetery, rural Tolley, in the spring Family Service: Today at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home Visitation: Today 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Brose Funeral Home, Mohall.
