MOHALL
– Marvel Aamodt, 93, of Mohall; died Wednesday, February 27, 2008, at a
Mohall nursing home.
She was born October 13, 1914 in Mohall to John and Ida “Grace” (Vance) Thorson. She was raised in Mohall and graduated from Mohall High School in 1934.
She married Lester Aamodt July 26, 1941 in Plentywood, MT. They farmed the Aamodt homestead in Cut Bank Township of Bottineau County for many years. They retired from farming and moved into Mohall.
Marvel worked for Goldie Stene at Goldie’s Dress Shop for many years. Lester died March 11, 1984. She continued living in Mohall and entered the Good Samaritan Society, Mohall, in April of 2007.
Marvel was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Mohall, and the WELCA. She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling and embroidery. An avid sports fan, she loved watching the Minnesota Twins and the Vikings.
Family: daughters, Leann (Gil) Fraley, Jacksonville, AR; Janel (Don) Marksberry, Hutto, TX; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Marvel was preceded in death by her daughter, Sally Rae; parents and her husband.
Funeral: Sunday, March 2, 2008, at 2:30 p.m. at the Good Samaritan Society, Mohall
Burial: Mohall Community Cemetery
Family and Friends Service: Today at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home
