Mary Cameron
She was born October 17, 1922 on the family farm near Mohall to Axel and Augusta (Eck) Nelson. She was raised near Mohall, attended the Sherman School and graduated from Mohall High School in 1940. Following graduation, she was employed as a housekeeper for area families. She married Grant Cameron March 10, 1944, in Minot. They farmed in the Antler area for many years. They retired in 1976 and moved to Sherwood. Grant died October 8, 1996. Mary continued living in Sherwood until the time of her death. Mary was a member of the Antler Community Church, Our Savior Lutheran Church, Sherwood, and a member of the Happy Hour Homemakers. She loved playing scrabble, bingo, was into genealogy and was the local historian. Mary was a devoted daughter, wife, mom, grandma and great-grandma. Family: children, Marlyce (David) Gilbertson, Sherwood, John (Kathryn) Cameron, Pelican Rapids, MN, Richard (LaVonne) Cameron, Sherwood, and Audrey (Gerald) Grafsgaard, Bismarck; grandchildren, Brad (Donna Hoover) Gilbertson, Sherwood, Kristi (Daniel) Lakefield, Mohall, Elizabeth (Joshua) Hernandez, Biloxi, MS, Donald Sumner, Spokane, WA, Leon (Darla) Cameron, Sherwood, Erica (A.J.) Zieman, Dickinson, and Holly Sumner, Boston, MA; great-grandchildren, Lexi Hilliard (fiance, Kevin Aho), Codee Gilbertson, Austin and Sheridan Lakefield, and Cooper Cameron; sister, Mildred Hagen, Mohall; cousin, Dorothy Woessner, Lake Wood, CO; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters, Vera Nelson and Edna Jensen; and brothers, Merton and Ernest Nelson. Funeral: Monday, July 19, 2010, 11:00 a.m., at the Antler Community Church Burial: Antler Cemetery Family Service: Sunday, July 18, 7:00 p.m. at Brose Funeral Home, Mohall Visitation: Sunday 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
