Doris V. "Peg" OssMOHALL – Doris V. “Peg” Oss, 81, of Mohall and formerly of the Lansford area; died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2008 at a Mohall nursing home.

Peg was born Feb. 24, 1927 on the family farm near Eckman in Chatfield Township, Bottineau County, a daughter of Raymond and Edith (Humphrey) Derr.  She was raised on the farm and graduated from Lansford High School in 1944.  Following graduation, she taught school in the Turtle Mountains.

She was once married to Kenneth Oss.  They lived and farmed near Lansford.  For several years, she worked as a nurses aid at Trinity Hospital in Minot.  In 1994, Peg moved to Mohall and began working as a telemarketer at the Mohall branch of Midwest Teleservices International.  After working at MTI for 10 years, she retired and continued living in Mohall.  In 2007, she moved to Edgewood Vista in Minot and then to the Good Samaritan Society nursing home in Mohall.

Peg was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Mohall, American Legion Auxiliary and the Moose Lodge.  She enjoyed sewing, playing card games, reading, fishing and gardening.  Peg especially enjoyed being a grandmother and great-grandmother.

Family:  children, John (Nancy) Oss, Bismarck; Bob (Janice) Oss, Minot; Jan (Gene) Jensen, Mohall; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Carole Asheim, Mohall; Kathryn (Ed) Haug, Yuma, AZ; Wilma Belcourt, Grand Forks; brothers, Kenneth (Maybelle) Derr, Kansas City, MO; Leonard (Margaret) Derr, St. Peters, MO; sister-in-law, Marlene Derr, Colorado Springs, CO; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Peg was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Lillian Larson; and brothers, Don and Gerry Derr.

Funeral:  Saturday, November 15, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Mohall

Burial:  Lansford Cemetery

Memorials:  Memorials preferred to the Good Samaritan Society-Mohall.
