Willie Williams
August 15, 1910 – May 20, 2008

MOHALL – Willie Williams, 97, of Mohall, died Tuesday, May 20, 2008, at a Mohall nursing home.

He was born August 15, 1910, near Mohall, in Cutbank Township of Bottineau County, to Herbert and Iva (Martinell) Williams.  He attended the Cutbank School and helped his dad with the operation of the family farm.

He married Lesta Brackelsberg September 25, 1937 in Bottineau.  They farmed and raised cattle in Cutbank Township for many years.  Lesta died June 25, 1993.  Willie moved to Mohall and lived at the Senior Citizens Apartments until entering the Good Samaritan Society nursing home in June of 2001.

Willie was a member of United Methodist Church, Mohall, and the Friendly Neighbors Senior Citizens Club.  He served many years on the Cutbank Township Board, the Mohall Community Cemetery Board and the Farmers Union Board.

Family:  son, L. Bert Williams, Kenmare; sister, Viola Halvorson, Mohall; and many nieces and nephews.

Willie was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Herviean Hunt, Myrtle Skeslien, Vivian Nelson, Frieda Schmidt and daughter-in-law, Cheryl Williams.

Funeral:  Saturday, May 24, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at United Methodist Church, Mohall

Burial:  Mohall Community Cemetery
